Data from market research firm and Famitsu magazine publisher Enterbrain has suggested that sales of the Wii console were almost four times higher than the PlayStation 3 in Japan during February, despite Sony’s console beginning to narrow the gap last autumn.
The success of Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Wii Fit were described as the primary reason for the Wii’s increased success, with the former selling 1.33 million units during the month. Wii Fit, which initially went on sale in December, sold 30,311 during the four weeks.
Titan Quest creator Iron Lore Entertainment has announced that it has closed its doors and ceased game development, due to lack of funding for its next project.
The Maynard, MA-based developer was founded in October 2000 by Age Of Empires co-creator Brian Sullivan and Paul Chieffo.
The company is chiefly known for creating the THQ-published PC action-RPG title Titan Quest, which helped it to win Best New Studio at the 2006 Game Developers Choice Awards.
It had more recently worked on Dawn Of War: Soulstorm, an expansion for the Relic-developed PC real-time strategy series which is due out early next month.
2007 was a great year for pc and console games – but since I’m a PC gamer, I don’t pay close attention to console games.
However, here’s a list of the most anticipated games for 2008
10. Halo Wars
9. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
8. Resident Evil 5
7. Fallout 3
6. Spore
5. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
4. Super Smash Bros. Brawl
3. World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King
2. Grand Theft Auto IV
… and the most anticipated game for 2008 is …
… and one of my all-time favorite games …
Those crazy kids are at it again, this time teaming up with NASA to proceed with a project that would plant hundreds of telescopes over a two square kilometer area on the far side of the moon, put in place by rovers, where the moon always faces away from the Earth.
The purpose of the telescopes is to explore the “Dark Ages,” which is the time when the universe first came into existence as star and galaxies were developing. To do this, the telescopes collect and analyze low-frequency radio transmissions that may be able to tell them a thing or two about the beginning of the universe. The team cannot use the telescopes to collect data from the Earth because of a high amount of interference thanks to all of our gadgets and doodads.

Man, its like Google is trying to eat up everything these days – maybe they should change their name to “Gobble” – its more appropriate. I can’t help but think about Pac Man when I think about this company
Now they are all over the mobile phone market with their Mobile Operating System called ANDROID – and this O.S will work on multiple mobile platforms. I wonder what Gobble, I mean Google will try to munch on next.
PS: Don’t be surprised if you see an iPhone with the Android Operating System on it – of course, this would not be supported by Steve Jobs – but hackers don’t care.
The good: Windows Vista SP1 improves the overall upgrade process, fixes hundreds of tiny problems, and makes it easier for third-party vendors to write stable code for Vista.
The bad: Windows Vista SP1 lacks any compelling “must haves,” and, in most cases, doesn’t significantly improve performance (in some cases, it even degrades performance).
The bottom line: While it’s always good to install the latest code for any operating system, installing the Windows Vista SP1 update will require some casual users to spend a few hours without any visible or tangible improvements to their systems.
In other words – stick with Windows XP!

Holy Crap! The Navy just tested out its insane new 10 megajoule railgun, and it’s clearly the future of death-delivery systems. Rather than using gunpowder like most guns, this thing powers projectiles via magnetic waves, allowing you to launch stuff at enormous speeds.
Just take a look at the image above! It shows the first demonstration of this crazy magnetic railgun, which fired a shell at 5,600 miles per hour using 10 megajoules of energy. And that’s just the beginning. When this thing is done, it’ll be firing shots at over 13,000 miles per hour. Oh, and it’ll be accurate enough to hit a 5 meter target from 200 nautical miles away while shooting at 10 shots per minute. Even though it won’t be ready until 2020 to 2025, I’m going to start getting on the Navy’s good side now.
If you are already familiar with Lightwave, then you are probably aware of what I’m about to tell you. If you are new to Lightwave however – or to 3D in general, then this resource is something that you should definitely have.
William Vaughan has went through the trouble of creating an array of very useful Lightwave tutorials. They are all organized on his webpage according to any column of your choosing; category, date, title, etc (you just have to click on the column headings to sort the list).
They are all in the QuickTime format and you can easily download them onto your computer.
Bookmark this site – it will definitely be a very valuable resource for any Lightwave user.
Sins of A Solar Empire is apparently making new waves in the Real Time Strategy gaming universe. Here’s just one of the reviews I’ve read about this cool game. Nothing beats the sheer joy of bombing a planet back to the Stone Age! AHH HA HA HA HA!!! (evil laugh of a galactic tyrant)
Twenty-two years ago–Jan. 28, 1986–we lost the space shuttle Challenger. A mere five years ago on Friday–Feb. 1, 2003–we lost her sister ship, Columbia.
I honestly believe that both disasters could have been avoided with meticulous and proper planning.
I sincerely hope that NASA does better in the coming years. Lets remember the fallen.

Internet providers trying to block torrent connections? Are they trying to be the “net police”. I am paying my money for my connection – I’m not getting it for free.
If an ISP’s infrastructure is having trouble with the bandwidth of its customers, well here’s a simple suggestion – UPGRADE YOUR INFRASTRUCTURE. Are they not getting money from their customers, surely they can afford it.
Sorry for ranting, but I just hate the idea of someone telling me what to do with something that I am paying for – its not like they are giving us a handout, you know.
Would Yahoo consider a business alliance with Google Inc as one way to rebuff a $44.6 billion dollar takeover proposal by Microsoft? Well, maybe.
Its been said that Microsoft’s offer of $31 per share undervalues the company. Its also been said that Google has accused Microsoft of trying to dig its monopoly deeper into the Internet realm.
Yahoo, in the middle, are insisting that they have not made a decision as yet.
Hey! Wait a minute, I’ve got a Yahoo account that I use everyday, should this mean that I should worry?
The accusations are flying and the bidding war is up and running. So who’s going to gobble up Yahoo? Google or Microsoft? We’ll just have to wait and see.
